here are my lists for favorite women's and couples' looks and a list of dresses i wish the actresses wearing them had left home!
women
#1- Lea Michele- lea, for a first-timer on the red carpet you like a pro! please keep this up! (dress by Oscar de la Renta)
#2- Toni Collette- this Elie Saab gown is drop-dead gorgeous! and so was winner toni! oh my god just look at that bead work! wow!!
#3- Penelope Cruz- this Atelier Versace mermaid gown is busy but also elegant. penelope carries it so well too.
couples: (...obviously i love the classic tux and bowtie on guys...)
#1- Stephen Moyer & Anna Paquin- omg. anna's Stella McCartney dress was fucking gorgeous. the bead work was stunning and the cut was so flattering on her gorgeous figure. and stephen looked dashing as usual! yum...
#2- John Krasinski & Emily Blunt- emily's soft, flow-y Dolce&Gabbana chiffon gown was a pink dream. i'm not going to lie: she played it safe, but it worked! among the shimmery purples and heavy bead work she stuck out with elegance.
#3- David Arquette & Courtney Cox-Arquette- probably one of my favorite couples in hollywood. courtney's Victoria Beckham gown was simple and gorgeous. and david cleans up so well!
worst!!!
#1- January Jones- this is one of the first times i have really hated an outfit worn by miss january. but this Lanvin dress is entirely too matronly and bland! let's hope this was a one time only deal.
#2- Mariah Carey- now, let me be honest. i've never been much of a mariah fan. this Max Azria dress is incredibly unflattering! it doesn't give her body an attractive shape, it just says, "hey! you haven't seen the 'golden globes' til you've checked these puppies out!" just tacky. and i'm a huge fan of cleavage bearing.
#3- Julianne Moore- julianne! what were you thinking????? a garbage sack with a ruffle trim is not flattering on anyone!! even if it is made by Balenciaga!!!
dishonorable mention: Heidi Klum, wtf?? so unflattering. especially to her heaving bosom.
